Jojoba oil is produced in the seed of the Jojoba plant, a shrub, which is native to southern Arizona, southern California, and northwestern Mexico. Native Americans extracted the oil from jojoba seeds to treat sores and wounds. The collection and processing of the seed marked the beginning of jojoba agricultural domestication in the early 1970s. Jojoba oil regulates sebum production because it's so similar to the sebum that your body produces naturally.

Organic, cold-pressed jojoba oil contains a high level of antioxidants and the nutrients Vitamin E and B, as well as the minerals chromium, copper and zinc, all of which help to nourish and protect the skin.
