The Slow Beauty of Georgia.

Whether or not you are a professional service provider in the beauty and wellness space this mini Slow Beauty Guide to the Peach State is for you. We are incredibly grateful for our spa, salon and retail partners around the world. Each month we are focusing on a specific area of the globe where SPARITUAL and our Slow Beauty philosophy are being utilized by professional service providers in manicure, pedicure and body care treatment services and are also available to purchase in our retail sizes where one may continue the care in the comfort of their home in between appointments. Our goal is to help professionals help their clients (and to help anyone who wants the help) develop a sustainable self-care practice that is simple, meaningful and effective.

GEORGIA ON OUR MINDS

LIke Ray Charles and his hit song released in 1960, Georgia is also very much on our mind. Southern kindness, exquisite mountains, hiking trails and views, an abundance of waterfalls, peaches and sweet Vidalia onions, delicious food, and beaches; these are just a few things we love about Georgia’s rich culture and history.

OASES OF CALM AND CULTURE

SPARITUAL is partnered with quality spa, salon and specialty retailers throughout the state of Georgia and we are honored to include and highlight a few for you. We want these special, healing places dedicated to self-care and wellness to be on your mind too!

Waldorf Astoria Atlanta Buckhead

Covering three floors, this expansive spa houses vitality pools, steam rooms, and 13 treatment rooms, including a couples' suite. Signature therapies include body wraps, exfoliation treatments, a range of massages, and special experiences for mothers-to-be. Their beauty treatments range from facials to hydrotherapy and pedicures.

SPARITUAL treatment products are featured in their Therapeutic Massage

Nuud Wax Studio Located in downtown Decatur, this delightful waxing studio promotes “Where inner beauty meets confidence.” We love their presence, vision and dedication to supporting waxing needs for healthy, beautiful skin. SPARITUAL is proud to be amongst their tightly curated brand partners.

Von Maur Department Store

This family owned business opened their first store in late 1800 in Davenport, Iowa and today offers 36 locations across 15 states, including 3 in Georgia. We are honored to have the entire range of SPARITUAL body care and nail care of SPARITUAL treatments featured in store in all locations and also on-line and to be part of the Von Maur family.

Elsewhere in Georgia, we have discovered other delights; these are oases of calm and culture and we are excited to share them with you:

FOR FOODIES:

The Perfect Pairing: Of reading and food, Lucien Books and Wine, a pairing that speaks to our appreciation of  bibliotherapy and polyphenol for their therapeutic slow beauty benefits features a full library of non-fiction art and culinary books for perusal and purchase as well as a delicious menu of food featuring small plates and a robust selection of fine wines. A review in Atlanta magazine calls this place “a gentle self-contained universe that wants to be shared, ” the decor inspired by “quiet scholarly libraries”,  of intellectual and gustatory harmony.

FOR ART ENTHUSIASTS:

Disruption On Exhibition at The Georgia Museum of Art: Klee, Miro and Picasso influenced the disruptive Japanese ceramic movement Sodeisha birthed in 1948 (disbanded in 1998). Until the time of its inception of what is translated as  the “crawling through mud association,” the 15,000 year old Japanese ceramics culture was focused on functional ceramics and porcelain. The ceramicists of the Sodeisha movement disrupted this lineage by shifting focus to creating existential and emotionally driven sculptural ceramic objects. A sophisticated, diverse collection made with both ancient and modern materials and methods and of outstanding craftsmanship are now on display at The Georgia Museum of Art in Athens, GA located on the University of Georgia campus.

FOR NATURALISTS:

Take Me Away: The ultimate in nature bathing, at Dunaway Gardens you may immerse yourself in the magical view and sounds of a cascading waterfall, gardens; one sunken, and one hanging, and the meandering cedar creek. Originally a theatrical training ground for producers, directors and performers in the golden years of the ‘20s, ‘30s, and ‘40s, Dunaway Gardens is now a naturalist’s haven.

FOR THE STYLISH:

Wes Gordon for Carolina Herrara. This Atlanta raised fashion designer has been designing for Carolina Herrara since 2018. For Spring 2022 we are inspired by the collections “sense of occasion” and playful yet timeless classical feel.
