The sunflower was a common crop among American Indian tribes throughout North America. Evidence suggests that the plant was cultivated by American Indians in present-day Arizona and New Mexico about 3000 BC. The oil of the seed was used on the skin and hair for nourishment. However, sunflower oil began to be commercially produced in Russia in the 1800’s when the medicinal and culinary uses for sunflower oil became known.

Sunflower Oil is high in vitamin E and A C & D which helps protect the collagen and elastin in the skin. Contains vitamins and fatty acids that act as antioxidants to regenerate new skin cells and prevents acne-causing bacteria. High in Omega-6 (lineolic) fatty acid and vitamin E which helps protect the collagen and elastin in the skin and enhances development of new skin cells.
